Authorities respond to 'large gas leak' in Sandy

(UPDATE) — Dominion Energy was able to control the leak, the Sandy City Fire Department said in a tweet at about 4:13 p.m. Wednesday. The fire department said the area will remain closed until the repair can be made.

(KUTV) — Sandy City authorities responded to a "large gas leak" in the area of 9800 South and 700 East on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, crews are en route to fix the leak.

Authorities ask that drivers steer clear of the area.
