(KUTV) -- Four people were arrested Tuesday after a brief police pursuit ended in Syracuse, and the fleeing suspects crashed their vehicle into a semi truck.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Todd Royce told 2News the unspecified police incident began in Syracuse when four people traveling in a vehicle fled from police.

Police stopped its pursuit in Syracuse and the suspects continued onto Interstate 15 heading southbound.

The suspects attempted to pass cars by going in the right emergency lane.

At some point the vehicle lost control, went across the freeway and hit a semi that was hauling three trailers, Royce said.

One of the three trailers was knocked over in the collision that occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m., at mile marker 330, south of Layton Parkway in the southbound lanes.

One of the fleeing suspects sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital.

All four suspects had active warrants and are being booked into the Davis County jail. Names of the suspects have not released by police.
