(KUTV) Basketball fans had mixed reactions to Gordon Hayward's decision to leave the Jazz.

"Obviously we're going to feel a little disappointed. But at the end of the day, it's his decision," said Armando Mercado, a recently adapted Jazz fan. "Some of the players are going to have to step up,"

Darrin Perry has been a fan of the Jazz since before they moved to Utah. He said Hayward has been a core leader of the team.

"We'll have to refocus. But, it's sports," he said. "We are better than Miami and Boston! Stay here in Salt Lake, Gordon!"

Other basketball fans said the move will bring an opportunity for other players to develop.

"I think he's a great player. But I think he's a one-dimensional player. I'd like to see more defense. So, if he's got to go, I'd let him go," said Scott, who loves Utah. "If they don't want to be here, then they shouldn't be. But they're crazy because it's beautiful!"
