Spanish Fork PD cite two drivers for drag racing, crashing into airplane

(KUTV) — Spanish Fork Police arrested one man and cited two near the Spanish Fork-Springville Airport Friday night.

One man, who police said was behaving suspiciously, was arrested after police learned he had a warrant. Spanish Fork Police Sergeant Courtney Jones said the man also resisted arrest.

The other two men were cited after police witnessed them drag racing at over 100 miles-per-hour, Jones said. One was driving a 2014 Corvette, and the other was driving a 2006 Porsche.

The Corvette crashed into a small airplane that was parked on the taxiway, Jones said. Nobody was inside the plane, but the crash caused damage on the plane's right side and resulted in a fuel leak.

The driver of the Corvette and the Porsche were cited for reckless driving.
