Gaming Con moves to downtown Salt Lake City for June event

(KUTV) — Jake Williams, founder of Gaming Con, talked with KUTV about his convention and its move from the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy to the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

By the year 2121 51% of all entertainment is going to be gaming. If you add up all the music, movies, everything together 51% will be gaming. Basically, we’re celebrating that.

Tournaments at the even include:

  • HearthStone: Heroes of Warcraft
  • Magic The Gathering
  • League of Legends
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Guests include:

  • Jason Mewes, actor and comedian
  • Mela Lee, Apex Legends
  • Doug Cockle, voice actor on The Witcher
  • Richard Epcar, Mortal Kombat voice actor
  • Raychul Moore, cosplay model

It is scheduled for the Salt Palace Convention Center June 27 - 29. Three-day passes range from $40 to $90 while single-day passes are $20 for Thursday and Friday, $25 for Saturday.
