2 dead following wrong-way crash on I-80 in Tooele County

UPDATE (September 6) -- The female driver of the wrong-way car has been identified as Sandra Lackovic of Incline Village, Nevada. The deceased male driver of the pickup has been identified as Rodney Knotek of Murray, Utah.

Utah Highway Patrol Troopers confirmed two people have died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 80.

UHP said the accident happened on the Interstate at milepost 55, west of the Grassy Mountain Rest Area in Tooele County.

Two vehicles were involved, one which appeared to have been driving in the wrong direction.

Two people were killed in the crash.

Westbound Interstate 80 was closed for a time while troopers investigated the crash.

As of 6:22 a.m., all lanes on westbound Interstate 80 have been reopened.
