(KUTV) -- Two transients, who live along the Jordan River, have been transported to the hospital for hypothermia, Salt Lake City Fire Department confirmed to 2News.

Due to the rains and cold temperatures, the fire department will be going along the Jordan River checking on people living in transient camps.

The process will take several hours because it needs to be done on foot.
