A total of 25 dogs were found locked away inside an abandoned home in Roosevelt, Utah.

Furever Buddy's Dog Rescue posted about the rescue on it's Facebook page, saying it was "just by chance" the animals were found.

The people living at the home were described as hoarders and created "horrific conditions" for the animals to live in.

"They were found in horrific shape, living in horrific conditions," the Facebook post stated.

Three volunteers waded through piles of trash and feces to help bring the 25 dogs to safety.

Furever Buddy's described how living in that kind of environment had a negative effect on the dogs.

What you probably don't know is how really broken they are. Terrified, confused, failed by the people they trusted, born into a life that they had no choice in.

The volunteers worked to earn the animals' trust, help them heal and mend years of damage.

Now, more than a dozen of the dogs still need continued "patience and over-due vet care." One mom dog gave birth to six healthy babies with in the custody of Furever Buddy's.

The organization hopes to continue to give aide to the dogs.
