Ryan and Elsa Wilk, who had recently purchased a house in Utah, were among six victims who died in a plane crash in Alaska on Monday.

The two sightseeing planes collided near Ketchikan, Alaska.

According to Emily Farrer, who lives next door to the house purchased by the Wilks about a year ago, the couple bought the house in the Daybreak community and wanted to start a family here.

Their dream never happened as Elsa had trouble obtaining paperwork -- possibly a visa -- to live and work here. They were living in British Columbia.

Farrer said the couple attended a neighborhood party last year. Ryan was in Utah days ago, mowing the lawn.

Ryan Wilk told neighbors they were selling the Utah house. A lock box was attached to the front door.
