A church of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints burned up in Cottonwood Heights early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., crews responded to the call of an LDS church fire on 3680 E. Brighton Point Dr. and responded just minutes afterward to find the church fully involved with flames, according to Unified Fire Authority.

Units from UFA and the Murray Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire until 3:26 a.m. when it was knocked down.

According to neighbors and church members, this is the second incident to have occurred at the church. Earlier this week, a break-in was reported; however, it's not confirmed if the two incidents are related.

No injuries were reported at this time and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
