Delta released the following statement Wednesday night about the diversion:

“Delta flight 1268 flying to Seattle returned to Salt Lake City shortly after departing due to a crack on the windshield. The flight landed safely without incident. We are working to help passengers resume their travels as quickly as possible on an alternate aircraft and apologize for the inconvenience.”

“We thank the pilot [for] landing us safety,” Srinivas told 2News, adding that the crew did not “freak out” during the incident.
