(KUTV) -- Disneyland changes forever Thursday when the theme park opens its brand new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge portion of the park.

Today, KUTV is taking the tour of the 14-acre immersive environment, to bring you the sights and experiences on television Friday and online tonight. We have already collected plenty of assets for when the media embargo ends tonight.

Film critic Ryan Painter and writer - photographer Larry D. Curtis will bring KUTV viewers and readers as much of a preview as possible. Utah loves Disney and Utah loves Star Wars, so we will try to answer the burning questions about the new park-inside-the-park, including: Is this worth planning a family vacation for?

There are media crews from around the world here. For example, yesterday KUTV arrived just in time to snap photos of a media contingent from Japan. Overheard from an international media representative, "this is a big deal."

Around the park loads of visitors are wearing Star Wars gear in the form of t-shirts or specialized mouse ears in the form of R2-D2, modified from icon Mickey Mouse. The theme park is apparently croweded this week and the masses are salivating.

Look for a gallery at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday, depending on travel and turnaround time, with more to come on Thursday. Our two Star Wars experts will try to respond to questions on Twitter.
