A former LDS bishop was sentenced on Tuesday to less than one year in jail and probation after being convicted of inappropriately touching juveniles and talking about masturbation regularly, court documents state.

Jeffrey Bryon Head was found guilty by a jury in April of of sexual battery, which was reduced from a second-degree felony to a class A misdemeanor; attempted forcible sexual abuse, a third-degree felony; and two counts of lewdness, class B misdemeanors.

Head will be placed on probation for 48 months after serving 120 days in jail. He is also required to register as a sex offender.

Court documents state Head got credit for the 45 days he already spent in jail.

Court documents state detail several occasions when Head allegedly touched juveniles inappropriately and and discussed maturbation with people of various ages.

One of the victim's described Head as "really touchy feel" and that he talked about masturbation a lot.

Head allegedly touched one victim inappropriately and looked down his shorts. A witness told police that Head asked the victim to pull down his pants and underwear because he was curious about his recent surgery.

One victim told police Head locked himself and another person inside of a vehicle so they could talk about masturbation and erections. “We have to figure this masturbation thing out. You’re not leaving until we figure this out,” Head allegedly said.

The person told police he could have left the car, but didn’t want to because Head was “a leader for him to look up to,” court documents state.

Head was a bishop for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members of a congregation are usually asked to serve as bishop for five to 10 years.

One week later, Head allegedly entered the residence of the victim while he and his sister were home alone. He tried to discuss masturbation again and told the victim’s sister to leave them alone when she entered the room.

Head is also accused of talking about masturbation while getting milkshakes with a member of his congregation. Head also allegedly rubbed the person’s shoulders, removed his shirt and moved the person’s hand on his thigh near his private parts, court documents state.
