(UPDATE 2/10/19 9:21 p.m.) -- I-80 westbound has reopened in Summit County.
SUMMIT COUNTY (KUTV) -- The westbound lanes of Interstate 80 are closed at milepost 146 in Summit County, according to UDOT.
The closure is west of U.S. 40. at Kimball Junction, according to John Gleason with UDOT.
Due to heavy snow, an unspecific number of vehicles cannot make it over the summit of Parley’s Canyon.
Gleason said he was not sure how many vehicles had been immobilized due to the snowy conditions, nor was he sure how much snow had fallen on the road in the canyon.
UDOT has not given a time frame of how long I-80 will be closed.
