A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died Wednesday night after experiencing "sudden health issues," according to a statement from the Church.
24-year-old Saintlouis Pointdujours Dortilus, a native of Haiti, had been serving in the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission since September of last year, said Church spokesman Sam Penrod.
"We send our love and prayers to the family of Elder Dortilus," Penrod wrote on behalf of the Church.
Dortilus is at least the third Latter-day Saint missionary to die this year.
A young missionary from Lehi, Utah was killed in a car accident in Arkansas earlier this month.
On New Year's Day, the Church reported a missionary in Nigeria died "from a sudden health condition."
