(KUTV) — A man is in critical condition after an explosion and fire at an industrial shop in Brigham City.
The fire also gutted S&M Diesel, the shop where the fire started, resulting in a total loss for the business.
Box Elder County Fire said an employee was welding and hit a fuel tank causing the explosion and fire with damage estimates as high as $400,000. It took 25 firefighters from six agencies to take the fire down, which is now out. The emergency call originated at 5:14 p.m.
The injured man was originally taken to Bear River hospital and air transportation was requested, but it cannot be confirmed if he has been taken to a different hospital.
Another man was also hurt and is in fair condition while a woman was treated at the scene for distress. Ages of the victims was not available.
