A motorcyclist is dead after skidding into oncoming traffic Tuesday on state Route 24 near Torrey, Utah.
The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling in a large group near milepost 73 at approximately 3 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Tire debris in the road forced two motorcycles in the front to slow down.
The driver of the Harley Davidson, however, slowed to avoid the front two motorcyclists, left his lane, and veered into oncoming traffic.
DPS reports while braking skid of the motorcycle, the driver lost control and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound.
The driver was killed on impact.
The deceased driver's name will be released after the family has time to notify friends and extended family, DPS reported.
