Outlets Park City among first for experiential 3D windows for virtual 'travel' photos

Outlets Park City is one of seven sites featuring the first multi-level, interactive engagement 3D retail windows in the world.

Customers will be able to take photos in front of Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower or an Alpine location with the new "Window Wonderland Getaway" promotion.

The offering integrates click-worthy walls, QR-accessed virtual animations, games and promotions to allow customers to “travel” virtually. Signage encourages customers to create photos for their own social media and enter layered contests with awards including weekly prizes, a $500 shopping spree and trips to Europe, a press release stated.

The innovative new windows, which were developed by The Outlet Resource Group (TORG) and their design team, includes 3DWD from the Netherlands and the Funnel Design Group and SLM Consulting from the US.

The remaining participating outlets are:

  • Lincoln City Outlets, Ore.;
  • OKC Outlets, Oklahoma City, Okla.;
  • Outlets Nags Head, N.C.;
  • Outlets Ocean City, Ocean City, Md;
  • Outlets Park City, Utah and Outlets Williamsburg, Iowa.
  • TORG leases and markets Westbrook Outlets, Westbrook, Conn.

“Every single shopping center in the world has some empty window or windows, so we decided to use our windows to create an engagement tool for our customers to interact with us in a touchless way, through the first and only 3D interactive windows in a retail setting in the world,” says Lisa Quier Wagner, Principal of TORG, in a prepared statement. ”We were able to create a promotional activity using that space and enticing our customers to use their imaginations to fantasize about a post-COVID adventure, dressing our windows to create a visual ‘journey’ to Paris, London and the Alps in a beautiful wintery scene, escaping reality for a flight of fancy.”

TORG is deploying this unique program as an alternative to any sort of a crowd-generating holiday event amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The "Window Wonderland Getaway" allows customers to interact with the centers on their own timeline and comfort level, the press release stated.
