Man dies after stepping in front of Union Pacific train in Woods Cross

A 40-year-old man was struck by a Union Pacific train in Davis County early Monday morning, according to the Wood Cross Police Department.

Authorities say the person intentionally walked in front of the train.

The incident occurred near 1500 S. 875 W.

FrontRunner trains were delayed by 30 to 40 minutes in the area, UTA spokesperson Carl Arky says.

The southbound trains were temporarily stopped at Woods Cross and northbound at North Temple.

A bus bridge was in place from Woods Cross to North Temple.

The trains are now moving through the area.

The man's name has not been released.
