One person has been killed in a small helicopter crash near the Heber Valley Airport, Wednesday.
Wasatch County Fire responded to the crash and near U.S. Route 189 by the airport and said one occupant, the pilot of the craft, was killed and no others were injured. Police called the craft a "gyrocopter."
Traffic in the area is slowed, but not stopped.
The small airport sits adjacent to U.S. 189 that runs from Provo, Utah, to Jackson, Wyoming. Emergency response vehicles are on the scene and blocking lanes, though traffic is getting through in both directions.
The identity of the person killed has not been released. Family of crash victims are notified before that information is made public.
