Suspicious death at Motel 6 in Midvale, Unified Police investigating

UPDATE: (Wed., Oct. 16, 2: 05 p.m., ) — The person found dead is Lynette Fay Pearse, 66. She is a resident of Midvale, Utah, according to Unified Police. No further information is available.

A person was found dead at a Midvale, Utah, Motel 6. Unified Police Department is investigating what it is calling a suspicious death.

According to UPD, the department is investigating the reported death discovered at the motel on 7263 Catalpa Street.

Sgt. Melody Gray with UPD told 2News they received the call just before 1 p.m. when housekeeping went into the room and found a deceased woman presumed to be in her 50s.

She also told 2News there were no signs of obvious trauma, but there are some things that investigators found odd while examining the scene. No further details were released at this time.

Gray stated that they won't know for sure what the cause of death is under after the medical examiner can perform an autopsy.
