Utah Royals FC Head Coach Craig Harrington and assistant Louis Lancaster were put on administrative leave this week.

The Athletic reports this move is tied to allegations of inappropriate comments. Harrington allegedly made inappropriate comments of a sexual nature to staff.

Both the Royals and the National Women's Soccer League declined to comment. Harrington and Lancaster also declined comment through the club, according to The Athletic.

This comes as owner Dell Loy Hansen is in the process of selling his soccer holdings, which includes the Royals, after he was forced to step aside after numerous reports accused him of a history of racist comments and behavior, in addition to misconduct.

"It’s a moment of sadness," Hansen told the Radio From Hell team, on X96 that he owns, after the Real Salt Lake team joined national sports boycotts about the shooting of Jacob Blake. "It’s like somebody stabbed you and you’re trying to figure out a way to pull the knife out and move forward. That’s what it feels like. The disrespect is profound to me personally."

A former RSL intern told 2News he was fired by Hansen after he told RSL franchise management about racial comments that were directed at him six years ago when he worked for the team. The intern said he spoke with 2News after another employee recently came forward with similar allegations.

Major League Soccer is currently investigating Hansen in light of the allegations. A founding executive of Real Salt Lake, John Kimball, is serving as interim president of Utah Soccer after majority owner Hansen announced his leave of absence.

Hansen acquired full ownership of RSL in October 2013 after three-plus years as a minority investor.

Chief Businesses Officer Andy Carroll was put on a leave of absence on Sept. 1 after allegations of sexism and workplace misconduct. An investigation into Carroll is also underway, according to Sports Business Daily.
