(KUTV) UPDATE — Trina Mascorro was located on Friday afternoon, according to West Valley City police. She was found safe.

(ORIGINAL STORY) — Police in West Valley plan to resume the search Friday for a woman considered missing and endangered who left her home on Thursday evening.

46-year-old Trina Mascorro left a not for her family members when she left at approximately 5 p.m., but they became concerned and called the police.

Sgt. Tyler Longman with West Valley City PD told 2News Mascorro has a diminished mental capacity.

She is known to frequent the area around Decker Lake, so a K9 was deployed to search the area around the lake and the route her family said Mascorro may have taken. The K9 was not able to locate Mascorro or her trail, Longman said.

Because of weather conditions, police weren't able to use drones of helicopters to aid in their search on Thursday night.

The search for Mascorro will resume Friday morning.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should contact police at 801-840-4000.
