Body found in road after shots fired in Salt Lake City neighborhood

(UPDATE) — Police identified the person killed this morning in Salt Lake City at 41-year-old Gerad Ohlwiler.

A body was found by police responding to reports of shots fired in a Salt Lake City neighborhood early Monday morning.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, the man died from a gunshot wound.

A suspect, or suspects, have yet to be identified and arrested. Witnesses and people in the area are being interviewed.

Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident and the public isn't in immediate danger.

The shooting occurred near 1071 W. Wenco Drive.
