A Sandy home is a complete loss after it was consumed by flames overnight.
The blaze broke out near 7800 S. 700 E. at approximately 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters say they had a difficult time extinguishing it.
The investigation into the cause of the fire could take a long time because it's too dangerous to go inside the home, officials say.
"The walls started to lean. There's an old brick chimney that could fall," Deputy Chief Ryan McConaghie with the Sandy Fire Department said.
The blaze is believed to be suspicious because the house is abandoned and the power was shut off.
Officials say this same home caught fire a few years ago, crews say.
