UPDATE (12/14/19 6:15 a.m.) -- Unified Police stated they found and arrested the 15-year-old female suspect, and she was booked into youth detention. Also, the victim is now in stable condition at the hospital.
(ORIGINAL) -- One teenage girl was taken to a local hospital in critical condition on Friday night after an altercation in Millcreek, police tell 2News.
Two female juveniles got into a fight in the parking lot of a shopping center near 3710 S. 900 East, according to officers with the Unified Police Department.
Both girls are believed to be between 15 and 16 years old.
During the fight, one of the teenagers stabbed the other, who was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Police state she was stabbed "several times" in the torso but was in stable condition as of 7:45 p.m. Friday.
The teen who wielded the knife is still at large.
Police believe the two girls knew each other and that this was not a random attack. They told 2News they don't believe there is any threat to the general public in connection with this attack.
