Utah Task Force 2 has returned home on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 to reunite with their families.
Twenty-one firefighters returned from northern California, where they were helping battle the Dixie Fire. The task force had left in August to provide assistance.
"Huge thank you to our wives and children for allowing us to help CA in this capacity," said Ryan Love, a public information officer with United Fire Authority, in a social post.
"Our work here was greatly appreciated," he added.
As of Saturday, the Dixie Fire has burned over 950,000 acres since it first ignited on July 13 . The fire is 62% contained.
Over 4,890 personnel have aided at the scene, including Utah firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
