The Bountiful Police Department is looking for a man who backed into another vehicle, looked at the damage he caused and then fled.
Police posted the video on YouTube of the incident and a subsequent tweet reminding people that if they are driving and hit an unoccupied vehicle or unattended property that the law requires that the owner of the property be located, a note left or a call made to police.
The social media post continued saying:
If the damage looks like it might cost $2,500 or more, you must notify police. If you're unsure on the dollar amount of the damage, just call us.
The man, who is believed to be a local resident and observed on surveillance video, is wanted for the hit and run case, police say.
If you can identify the individual, call Bountiful Police at 801-298-6000.
