(KUTV) -- When you head to the polls, a list of judges appears for your approval. What are you supposed to do?
Jennifer Yim, executive director for Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission for Utah, told 2News there is resource available for voters to access to learn about judges so they can make an educated vote before they go to the polls. She said:
Voters play an extremely important role in judicial retention. They are the only people who can decide whether a judge on their ballot is going to serve another term or not.
A website details a judge’s performance from attorneys, jurors and court staff that rate them. performance. Volunteer court room observers also rate the judges on how they treat people in the courtroom.
