Woman killed on Utah highway after collision of cars heading in opposite directions

(KUTV) —A woman was killed north of Monticello, Utah, this morning after who cars collided on State Route 191.

According to the Department of Public Safety, at 7:17 a.m., a black car with Colorado plates and two occupants was heading southbound on SR 191, near mile marker 79, when the driver seemed to lose control of the car and slid sideways into a northbound lane where it collided with a silver 4-door sedan with Utah plates and two people inside.

The front of the silver sedan impacted driver's side of the black sedan, according to UDPS.

All four people from the two cars were taken to the San Juan hospital in Monticello and the front passenger from the black car, identified as 69-year-old Christine A. Sours, was then taken to flown to a hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Sours did not survive her injuries, according to troopers.
