Police in Riverton arrested a man for allegedly possessing over 1000 sexually explicit images of underage girls.
Jason Andrew Lytton, 40, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on the offenses of 100 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to an arrest affidavit for Lytton, police responded to a call about the discovery of child porn photos on Sept. 29.
On that date, Lytton allegedly contacted a witness to set up a Venmo account and gave the witness his information to his I-Cloud account in order to link the two.
The witness logged into the account at Lytton's request and discovered the "hundreds" of photos hidden in a folder.
The witness said the sexually explicit photos appeared to show girls between the age of eight and 15 years.
Through an approved search warrant, Riverton detectives were able to gain access to Lytton's I-Cloud account.
When police opened the file containing the photos, the probable cause statement for Lytton noted they found "over 1000 images of what appears to be prepubescent girls who are indeed naked and posing in sexually suggestive ways."
Officers also discovered a series of homemade videos allegedly made by Lytton involving his own daughters.
Lytton admitted in a text message conversation that he "has made several stupid mistakes and knows this is his fault."
