Police arrest suspect in West Jordan fatal shooting of teen

WEST JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) — West Jordan police have confirmed that an arrest has been made in the shooting death of a teen boy

Cody Ivory, 19, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Jacob Jeremy Hansen, 17.

Ivory was booked into jail on homicide, aggravated robbery, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction charges.

The shooting happened around 10 a.m. Monday at a home near 3500 West and 8250 South.

Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots around that time and seeing police teams and ambulances flood the street not long after.

Several nearby schools were placed on lockout in response to the shooting, including Columbia Elementary School, West Jordan High School and Joel P. Jensen Middle School.

The lockouts have since been lifted.
