(KUTV) - Just months after serving a mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Utah freshman Branden Carlson has already made a name for himself. With 43 blocks and counting, Carlson ranks third all-time among freshman at the U. Only Jakob Poeltl and Andrew Bogut – both eventual NBA draft picks – had more. One of ten true freshmen on the roster, two of whom are in the starting lineup, Carlson has had to shake off the mission rust quickly. Jake Edmonds went one-on-one with the former Bingham Miner to talk about the team’s growing pains, leadership roles, and looking ahead. Watch the full interview above.
